The Green AI Committee (GAIC) was officially approved by the GSF Steering Committee on 31st March 2024.

With a rapid increase in the development and application of AI, the moment is ripe for the GSF to shape how companies approach the innovation and sustainability of their AI technology.
The Green AI Committee (‘GAIC’) will shape the GSF's strategy in building knowledge, standards, and tooling to ensure that the development and application of AI results in the least amount of environmental harm possible to support net zero ambitions.
The committee was proposed and founded by Thomas Lewis from Microsoft.
Co-Chairs are André Racz (Avanade) and Sanjay Podder (Accenture).
The committee members are:
