The Steering Committee (’SC’) is the main governing body of the Green Software Foundation. Participants are selected by Steering Member Organizations. Each Steering Member Organization can nominate a primary and an alternate representative.
SC members engage in thoughtful discussions to help provide:
Mutual accountability and support are essential among committee members. Committees are collaborative environments where everyone is responsible for their commitments and supports one another's contributions.
The SC makes all decisions by consensus. When the committee cannot reach consensus, it proceeds to make a decision by a Supermajority Vote.
A Supermajority Vote is an affirmative vote of no less than 3/4 of SC members in attendance and who have participated in at least 50% of the last four meetings. In this instance, each SC member has one vote.
Note the voting requirement for attendance/participation in at least 50% of the last four meetings gets waived if there have not yet been four completed meetings.
